Jewish Family Service LA is delighted to announce that we are the new owners of the building that houses our SOVA Community Food & Resource Program pantry in Van Nuys.
Arlene & Walter Schultz, the former owners of the property, were long-time supporters of JFS. Upon their passing, their children inherited the property and indicated to JFS that it had always been their parents’ wish that should the property ever be sold, it be sold to JFS.

The JFS SOVA Community Food & Resource Program (JFS SOVA) recently partnered with New Economics for Women in Canoga Park for a free grocery pop-up to serve families in the area. The pop-up, which ran every Friday afternoon from May 21st to June 25th, served about 50 households each week.

The JFS CONNECT Program is a unique companionship and transportation program that matches volunteers with seniors and adults with disabilities who live in West Hollywood. Volunteers take participants on essential errands, such as visits to the grocery store, bank, pharmacy, or hairdresser and on quality-of-life outings such as museums and concerts or simply sitting and visiting over a cup of tea. This assistance allows these individuals to continue to live independently in the homes and community they love.
